U-2 REUNION / 25 - 28 Sep 2008 / AGENDA

Friday 26 Sep
0745 – Depart for Beale (DON’T FORGET YOUR MILITARY ID CARD FOR BASE ENTRY)

0845 – Gather at the 99th Reconnaissance Squadron Dively Theater in Bldg. 1025

0900 – Unit Mission Brief and commanders welcome

0925 – Organize groups for demo tours

0930 – Start tours:      Group A to Physiological Support Squadron (PSPTS)
                                  Group B to Mission Procedures Trainer (MPT)
                                  Group C to Flightline for static display (bus transport)
Groups will spend 25 minutes at each tour point, and then move to next tour stop. 

1000 – F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) briefing by Stormy Boudreaux, Dively Theater
* Note: F-35 JSF briefing will be given again on Saturday at the hotel.

1100 – After tours, gather at the Ramoneda Grill (dining facility above the flight line)
Purchase the lunch of your choice, indoor and outdoor seating available. Military Club card holders receive a discount.  This is the best location to observe the U-2s and T-38s flying in the pattern.

1200 – After lunch, the Heritage Room in Bldg 1025 will be open for visiting or take the Beale AFB “windshield” tour – see the base sights via a tour bus

1300 – Those who signed up for wine tasting at the Indian Springs, proceed to the Tasting Room in Nevada City (Cost $5 per person)

1730 – Sheraton Grand Hotel for cocktails starting at 1730, Sheraton Hotel lobby bar (no host) or the Hospitality Room (beer only)

1830 – Italian Buffet Dinner in the Sheraton Ballroom (casual dress) (Cost $50 per person)

1830 – Registration will close

  • Hospitality Room at the Sheraton will be open all day (1100 to 2300) with free peanuts, beer and displays

  • The Lockheed souvenir room will be open all day at the hotel on the balcony level

Saturday 27 Sep
Breakfast on your own

1000 – F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Briefing by Stormy Boudreaux, Sheraton Grand Ballroom

1100 – Your choice of activities: Information & directions available at the concierge.

Some recommendations:

Wine tasting at Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg (17 miles south of the hotel) Free tasting

  • Get a group together, rent a stretch limo and go wine tasting

Not into wine? The Railroad Museum in Old Sac is a terrific place (admission $8)

  • Old Sac has many great shops to visit

Aerospace Museum at McClellan Air Park (ask for directions) Admission $5

  • Many aircraft from the past on display

California State Capitol Museum (3 blocks away) Admission Free

  • Look for Arnold to say HI!

IMAX Theater (behind the Sheraton Grand)

  • Great shows in IMAX 3D if you haven’t seen it before

or, just kick back in the Hospitality Room and visit with old friends

1630 – DLA membership meeting for election of new officers (paid-up members only)

1730 – Cocktails - Sheraton Hotel lobby bar (no host) or Hospitality Room (beer only)

1830 – Reunion Banquet – Sheraton Grand Ballroom (Cost $60 per person)
  Master of Ceremonies – Bryan Anderson, Lt Col USAF (Ret)
  Guest speaker – General Kevin P. Chilton – Commander, U.S. Strategic Command
  Dancing with the Moonlight Swing Band
